Located in the ancient Islamic capital of Fustat, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization is surrounded by some of the oldest and most well-known mosques, churches, and synagogues in Egypt. The museum is the first of its kind to showcase the entire history of Egyptian civilization, from the Predynastic and Ancient Egyptian eras to modern times.
The museum’s exceptional collection includes the royal mummies, which are exhibited in a new interactive display using 21st century cutting-edge technology to go beneath the wrappings and reveal their secrets, in addition to shedding light on the rituals and religious beliefs surrounding mummification in ancient Egypt.
